    Solicitors you can trust

We fully understand how stressful it can be to sustain a serious injury at work, especially if it has led to you being downgraded or medically discharged.

The solicitors at Nigel Askew aim to make the entire claims process as stress free as possible. We offer our military clients a free and no obligation initial phone consultation, during which we will build a picture of your circumstances by asking you about your accident, your resulting injuries, your medical and employment history and the reasons why you have been medically discharged from your duties.

If after we have spoken to you we believe your potential claim has good prospects of success then we will offer to represent you on a No Win No Fee basis.

Common causes of Military Injury Claims

Our solicitors speak to dozens of new potential clients every month and are able to offer legal advice on a wide range of different claim types, including:

    • Hearing loss, deafness and tinnitus sustained in the military
    • Non freezing cold injuries
    • Psychological and PTSD related injuries
    • Loss of sight

If you have been seriously injured or you have developed an illness in the military then we recommend you contact us today, as you may be able to claim financial compensation.

    How much can I claim?

Every military claim is different and the value of each claim will depend on the severity of your injuries and whether you have suffered financial loss in the form of lost earnings, the potential of future earnings and lost pension.

We have many years of experience and have helped our clients claim millions of pounds in compensation.

    • We represented a member of the Navy in a claim over £300,000 for his non-freezing cold injury, sustained during underwater training exercises
    • We represented a member of the RAF to claim over £100,000 for his serious arm injury, sustained during training
    • We represented a member of the Army in his claim for over £615,000 for his military training related hearing loss claim

The value of your claim may be lower or higher than these figures but if your injury has prematurely ended your military career, which has led to your ability to earn money in civilian life then the value of your claim could be significant.

Contact Nigel Askew Solicitors today for a free and no obligation assessment of your personal circumstances.

How long do I have to make a military claim?

The law in England & Wales states that you have 3 years after an accident, or the date of a medical diagnosis or from when you first linked your symptoms to your work in which you can make a claim.

In military related claims, especially involving a medical discharge, the 3 year limitation period can be complicated. We recommend you contact us as soon as you can to ensure your claim doesn’t fall foul of these strict claim periods.

Call us now on 01507 609027.

How much does a No Win No Fee Agreement cost?

We do not charge our military medical discharge clients any up-front fees to get their claims started.

If we believe your claim has good prospects of success then we will offer you a Conditional Fee Agreement. These agreements are commonly referred to as either a “CFA” or a “No Win No Fee agreement”.

The nature of these agreements means that law firms take all the financial risk and not the client.  If a claim fails, the law firm is not paid and the client does not have to pay any solicitor’s fees for their time.

For taking this risk, it is common for all law firms to agree with a client that they will be paid a percentage of their compensation award.  All of our other fees are paid by the Ministry of Defence.

To discuss how our military medical discharge claims are funded, please call us today and we will be happy to answer your questions and to help you with your claim.
