The Claimant sustained multiple injuries as a result of a road traffic accident, when the vehicle he was travelling in collided with another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.
He received the following injuries:
- Broken hip, with a risk that he will require multiple hip replacement operations in later life
- Dislocated shoulder, requiring surgery
- Head injury, with a risk of later cognitive decline, dementia and epilepsy
- Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
He was unable to return to his pre-accident employment and was fit for only light work.
He was awarded compensation in the sum of £455,000, on the basis that he could return to the court for further damages if his condition deteriorates.
Following a joint settlement discussion between the parties, the Claimant accepted the sum of £655,000 in damages
